The Los Santos County Sheriff's Office is committed to maintaining a high standard of professionalism, discipline, and competency within our ranks. To ensure that all members meet the expectations necessary to serve effectively, we have established the following department requirements for applicants and existing personnel.
All individuals seeking to join the LSCSO must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Must be at least 17 years of age.
Must have a working microphone and be able to communicate clearly.
Must have a valid copy of Grand Theft Auto V and access to FiveM.
Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken).
Must be willing to follow all LSCSO policies, procedures, and roleplay standards.
Must not have any active bans, blacklists, or major disciplinary actions within the community.
Must maintain a professional and respectful attitude when interacting with other members and the public.
Before being accepted into the department, all applicants must successfully complete the application and training process:
Complete the official Employment Application form with accurate and truthful information.
Pass an interview conducted by the LSCSO Personnel Division.
Successfully complete an onboarding group conducted by LSCSO Personnel Division upon successful completion of the interview.
Must complete the LSCSO Academy, which includes:
Stage I - Basic Law Enforcement Training
Stage II - Traffic Enforcement & Vehicle Operations Training
Stage III - Use of Force & Defensive Tactics
Stage IV - Arrest Procedures & Jail Operations
Stage V - Field Scenarios & Critical Incidents
Final Evaluation - Out In The Field
Must complete the final academy training exam before becoming a Probationary Deputy.
Must complete probationary field training phase of two weeks.
To maintain an active and effective department, all LSCSO members must meet the following activity and performance standards:
Must maintain activity by participating in patrols, training sessions, and department meetings.
Must log a minimum of 5 patrol hours per week (as determined by department policy).
Must complete all required reports,paperwork, and documentation accurately and on time.
Must adhere to all chain-of-command protocols when addressing concerns or requesting assistance.
Must remain professional in roleplay scenarios, community interactions, and external communications.
The LSCSO upholds strict behavioral and ethical expectaions for all of its members:
Professionalism: Deputies must treat all individuals with respect, including civilians, suspects, and fellow officers.
Integrity: Dishonesty, abuse of poer, or misconduct will result in immediate disciplinary action.
Compliance with Policies: All members must follow the LSCSO Standard Operating Procedures, training guidelines, and FiveM Guidelines and Terms of Service.
Chain of Command: Members must respect chain of command when seeking guidance, filing complaints, and or addressing department matters.
No Abuse of Power: Misuse of department privileges, excessive force, or roleplay rule violation will lead to suspension, or termination from the department.
Rank promotions within the LSCSO are earned based on performance, leadership abilities, and dedication to the department. To be considered for promotion, members must meet the following rank-specific requirements:
Time in Service: Must have the minimum required time in current rank before eligibility for promotion.
Patrol & Activity: Must maintain an active presence in patrols, training, and department initiatives.
Leadership Skills: Must demonstrate strong leadership qualities, decision-making skills, and team management abilities.
Training & Evaluation: Must pass all required leadership training courses, supervisor exams, and performance evaluations.
Promotions are determined by command staff based on merit, department needs, and individual contributions.
All deputies are required to wear the appropriate LSCSO-issued uniform and carry department-approved equipment while on duty.
Uniforms must be worn properly at all times during patrols.
Firearms and tactical gear must comply with LSCSO regulations.
Vehicles must be department-approved and equipped with proper police modifications.
Body cameras and dash cameras must be used as per LSCSO policy.
Failure to comply with uniform and equipment regulations may result in disciplinary action.
Deputies who wish to resign or take an extended leave of absence must submit a formal request to their chain of command.
Resgination: Deputies must submit a written notice before leaving the department. Failure to do so will result in a blacklist of department, and a department ban of 90 days with no appeal.
Leave of Absence: Extended absences must be approved by command staff.
Reinstatement: Former deputies may apply for reinstatement, but approval is based on previous service records, conduct, and department needs.
The LSCSO holds its deputies to the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to duty. These requirements are in place to ensure that all members contribute to a well-structured, discipline, and effective law enforcement team.
Failure to meet these requirements may result in disciplinary actions, demotions, or removal from the department. By adhering to these standards, LSCSO members help uphold the law, protect the community, and maintain the integrity of the department.
